The process of creating a
musical work of art!

Jack Dudley chooses a piece of wood.

1. Hand picked cypress knee

cypress knee detail

First, I hand pick cypress knees that meet my criteria and cut rough slabs for you to choose from to build your guitar.

I call the slabs your "diamond in the rough"

Jack cuts and prepares the wood.

2. Building the core

I add any custom inlays, shape and sand the slabs and choose select northern hard maple to build the "core" of the guitar. I'll then glue up the slabs, adding the hand carved nut with a brass saddle, and the tailpiece. (and bridge saddle for acoustic versions)

Every component is custom made to fit your slab, and no two are alike. I drill and layout the strings to fit your slab as well. All come with a 25" scale length.

3. The finishing touches

I continue to shape and sand your slab until it becomes the "diamond" that it was meant to be.

Your custom SRS is then spray finished and buffed , all hardware and pickups installed, custom made teardrop knobs put on, strung up with your choice of strings, and....

4. She's ready to play!
