“Don't Fret” Basses are completely handcrafted by me, Jack Dudley using select hardwoods. I have been playing fretless bass for 30 years, and until now, only built basses for me to play. The ”Don’t Fret” bass came about through trial and error. When I built the prototype, I had no intent on building basses to sell, but after several people told me that I need to get these out there, I decided to give it a shot.

These are some of the unique qualities of "Don't Fret" basses.

• A full 35-3/4” scale for extra string wobble, giving you the talkin’est, growlin’est fretless ever.

• The active EMG PJ style pickups with separate volume controls for the bass and the treble pickup and a single tone pot, give you the power and control you need without a lot of extra pork.

• The hand carved one piece neck has a full ¼” hand made steel truss rod for great stability.

• The fingerboards are epoxy coated for incredible sustain and growl.

• The extra long scale, round wound super light guage strings (I use the bottom 4 of a 6 string set) allow this to be the easiest playing bass you have ever played, along with aiding in the “talking” quality of the sound that makes a fretless a fretless.

• Each bass is handmade by me. No two are alike.
